He was appointed consultant urologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2009.

He holds Fellowships of both the UK Royal College of Surgeons (FRCSUrol) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACSUrol), a Doctor of Medicine higher degree by research, and extensive basic science training through a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and a Master of Science in Biochemical Pharmacology.

He has wide experience managing prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancer, including minimally invasive robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer. As a high-volume robotic and open cancer surgeon, he is able to offer patients contemporary urology cancer treatment.

Our Commitment

Your privacy matters to us, and protecting it is part of how we provide your care.

As a specialist urology practice, we collect sensitive personal and health information so our surgeons can give you the best possible treatment. We take seriously our responsibility to handle that information carefully, securely and only for the purposes you’d expect.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We manage your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we’re happy to talk through any of this with you directly if you have questions.

What We Collect

We collect the information needed to assess, treat and care for you safely. This typically includes your name, contact details, date of birth, Medicare and health fund details, and information from your GP referral.

It also includes clinical information relevant to your care: your medical history, test results, imaging, treatment notes and any other health information your surgeon needs to provide an accurate diagnosis and the right care plan. We only collect what’s relevant to your treatment, and only through appropriate means: directly from you, from your referring GP, or from other treating practitioners involved in your care.

How We Use It

Your information is used to provide and coordinate your care only. This includes assessing your condition, planning and delivering treatment, arranging investigations or surgery, and communicating with your referring GP and any other specialists involved in your treatment.

We may also use your information for appointment reminders, billing and claims with Medicare or your health fund, and for our own clinical record-keeping and quality and safety obligations. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent. Where we need to share information with hospitals, anaesthetists or other treating practitioners, we only share what’s necessary for your care.

Your Rights

You have the right to know what information we hold about you, and to have a say in how it’s used. You can request access to your medical records at any time, and ask us to correct any information that’s incorrect or out of date.

You can also ask us questions about how your information is being handled, or raise a concern if you feel it hasn’t been managed appropriately. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). We keep your health records for the period required by law, and store them securely whether in physical or electronic form.
