What is urology?
Urology is the surgical and medical management of problems of the male and female urinary system, and male reproductive system. There is some overlap with other areas of medicine and surgery, and sometimes joint care is required.
What to bring to your appointment
- Referral letter from your GP or other doctor (if you have it; usually this has been sent to Nick already)
- Medicare card, DVA card, Pension card
- Private Insurance information and card
- Copies of results of any tests relevant to the appointment:
- x-rays
- CTs
- MRI
- other radiology
- blood tests
- urine test
- a list of your medications
- a list of your other medical problems and previous operations
How to make an appointment
Your GP can write directly to any of our doctors for an appointment, or you can call the rooms direct to arrange this yourself. You are advised to get a GP referral, or a referral from another specialist as you can then claim a Medicare rebate for your consult and any treatment that may be needed.

Medical record confidentiality
Your medical details are treated as confidential. Clinic and hospital staff are bound by strict confidentiality requirements as a condition of their employment.
Communication will undertaken with your GP, and if other specialists need to be involved in your care, only relevant details will be passed to them, but you will be asked about this beforehand.
